Book Swap / ブック・スワップ
Event Branding / イベント・ブランディング
2024
THE PROJECT / プロジェクトについて
The objective of this project was to plan a branding strategy for a New York City library that would change its public perception in a positive way. The following is a Book Swap event proposal for Brooklyn Public Library’s Adam Street Library, located in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
Adams Street Library is known for its dedicated spaces and programming for local children, teens, and young adults. Yet this Book Swap event is meant to draw in New York City residents from across all five boroughs and all ages who might be unfamiliar with the library, and to encourage participants to donate unwanted books in exchange for other pre-loved books. In addition, the event’s focus on sustainable community outreach positions the library as an eco-conscious organization, contrasting what might be expected of its surrounding industrial neighborhood.
For these reasons, the branding takes on a DIY-design approach with bright colors and whimsical illustrations to catch the attention of both child and adult audiences.
EVENT MICROSITE / イベントのウェブサイト
The microsite serves as the focal point of the branding, detailing event information. While it is fairly minimal for easy navigation, it is also full of moving pieces to encourage exploration and to mirror the experience of rummaging through the Book Swap.
Designed using Readymag.
